ProFauna’s Wildlife Education Center is an informal education center concerning wild animal and its habitat. P – WEC was established in the end of year 2003. Education method used by P-WEC is experiential learning which often called “ learning by doing”. In the implementation nature was used as a media to learn, time of studying mostly spent outside (outdoor).
In P–WEC people learning and acquainting the wild animal conservation world through games, recreation, and adventure. Supported by nature environment and village nuance, it is hoped that guest will feel comfortable in joining P- WEC program.

Nature Atmosphere, in the foot of Kawi mountain
P – WEC located on the cool foot of the Kawi mountain, precisely in Petungsewu village, Dau district, Malang regency. The distance only 10 kilometres from the center of Malang city with the village and agriculture scenery. P- WEC located next to the Animal Rescue Center Petungsewu which become a temporarily quarantine for confiscated indonesian animals before they are released to the wild.

P–WEC is located between Sumberbendo village and Petungsewu village. City inhabitants sees it as an attractive side of becoming a guest in P – WEC. They can acquaint many village activities such a farming, cow breeding, planting, cow milking, etc. Along the trip to P – WEC from Malang city the guest will pass coffee plantations, orange plantations, fields, cow husbandry, and village traditional atmosphere.


Facilities
Hostel
There are three hostel in P- WEC such as Siamang Hostel, Orangutan Hostel, and Lutung Jawa Hostel with 128 persons total capacity, and also 1 guest house for 5 persons. All P-WEC hostel are designed as stage hostel which are made from wood to raise nature atmosphere when you are staying in this place.

Meeting Hall
There is a meeting hall in P-WEC which can patch 100 persons. This meeting hall can be used for seminar, meeting, training, or workshop. Beside indoor meeting hall there are also a lot of place for outdoor meeting.


Eating Hall
P-WEC eating hall is designed semi open therefore the guest can enjoy the village scenery around P-WEC. Eating Hall which able to patch 200 person can also purposed as a meeting hall.

Mini Library
P-WEC mini library collects a lot of animal welfare and wild animal protection World books and magazines. This Library is located inside the information center. The guest can the book collections in the Information center on a work day (09.00– 17.00 PM).

Outbound Facilities
There are permanent outbound facilities in P-WEC which are qualifying in examine your courage and togetherness. There are also available outbound facilities for children. Outbound facilities which already available are wall climbing, shaky bridge, cargo net, single lock, flying fox, variation bridge, single line, double line, V bridge, and independent bridge, etc. P-WEC also providing facilitator who will guide the outbound activities.

Healthy traditional Food
All the diet that available in P-WEC P-WEC are traditional East Java Food which not contains preservative and synthetic flavoring. P – WEC also do not use a meat in the menu. Snacks in P-WEC is a traditional snack which is difficult to find in the city.
Beside enjoying the air freshness on the foot of Kawi mountain, the guest will enjoy the healthy and low cholesterol food/dishes. Healthy life and wild animal concerning can be started in P-WEC


P-WEC PROGRAM

ProFauna’s wildlife Education Center (P- WEC) is an informal education center concerning wild animal and its habitat through games and adventure approaches. This educational package aimed to children, student, collegian, and general. This package consist of 1 day, 2 days, and 3 days package.
In P – WEC people are learning and acquainting wild animal conservation world without being teached, it is because all of the programs are using the games, recreation, and adventures approach. P- WEC also collected a lot of education film about wild animal protection and animal welfare.

P–WEC also conducts a free educational package for schools which are not able to pay the educational fee. P- WEC using intersection subsidy system. The income that coming from P-WEC activities are being used to pay free educational package for incapable schools.

Bird Watching
There are many bird species which are living around P- WEC, some of them are Black Eagle, Gelatik, Wood Pecker etc. P – WEC also providing guide and bird watching equipment, and ready to serve you to enjoy the beauty of the bird in nature. Watching site not only in P – WEC area but also in Kawi mountain range which is located on the west side of P –WEC area. It takes 3 days to enjoy this activity.

WAW in P-WEC
Wild Animal Watching package is an activity to watch all of the wild animals around P–WEC, from the bird to insects. There are hundreds species of insects live around P-WEC. WAW in P-WEC is a combination of conservation element, adventure, and recreation. This program takes 1 – 3 days.

Outbound Training
Is a comprehensive training which are covering leadership, teamwork building, communication, nature conservation, and problem solving. This program is suitable for business, NGO, especially for manager or decision maker level. This program takes 2 – 3 day.

Team Work Building
Is a training to create togetherness, an effective communication and team work. This package is suitable for business, collegian organization, or NGO. This program takes 1 – 2 days.


Family Gathering
Is a package is a short time package (2 - 3 hours) to create togetherness and belief through the games, recreation, and an adventure approaches. In Family Gathering program the guest will be introduced to the basic wild animal conservation. This program is suitable for family, collegian organization, youth organization, even NGO.

Summer in P – WEC
Is an activity to fill the holiday school season ( June – September). The activities covering an education on wild animal conservation with adventure, bird watching, be familiar with the village life style, hiking, be familiar with traditional agriculture, etc.
Summer in P- WEC is design to acquaint the ecology, animal conservation, culture, agriculture, village social culture, and animal welfare early in the beginning to children, student, or collegian. It takes 3 days.

Sunday Discussion (DHM)
Once in a month, on the first Sunday in the first week P–WEC always conduct a discussion about many different topic related to wild animal, habitat, animal welfare, or about wild animal protection world. Anyone can propose them selves to become a speaker in this discussion. Sunday Discussion (DHM) become an arena to share experiences and also to stimulate communication ability in of the public. A speaker shouldn’t be a master in his subject, afterward this discussion can be a place to share experiences or knowledge which are related to wild animal protection world.
